Jake Timber U.S. Marshal was born to Mary and Gilbert Timber in 1832 in the Colorado Tewrritory of Texas in the town of Lawrence. His mother died shortly after giving birth so it was up to his father and an Aunt Maude to bring him up. Neither of them had any idea of how to do that so Timber virtually brought himself up.

His early years before school were full of fun but school was very different, he was cast as an outsider especially with his father being the sheriff of the town. He was a tall gangly boy who didn't get on with anyone until he made a friend of a boy named Arnold.They spent a lot of time together right up into their teens.
